This month, we had one of the most powerful and rewarding Reflections experiences to date.

A successful businessman was gifted a Reflections 'Masterpiece' interview by his daughter for his 70th birthday — a gesture so thoughtful it moved him to tears.

We welcomed him and his daughter into our Auckland studio, which we had styled to echo the feel of his old businesses. The setting set the tone for a warm, nostalgic, and deeply meaningful afternoon.

Over the course of two hours, we travelled through the story of his life — from childhood to early business ventures, through family, success, setbacks, and the wisdom he’s gathered along the way. It was a celebration of a life well lived, and a powerful way to preserve his legacy for generations to come.

On the home straight, we shared a few glasses of tequila and raised a toast to a remarkable life. As we wrapped, he told us it was one of the most meaningful experiences he’d had in recent memory. His daughter was glowing — blown away by the process, and grateful for what had been captured.

For us, it was another reminder of just how special this work is. These stories matter. They’re not just for today — they’re for children, grandchildren, and future generations who deserve to know where they came from.
